Tony Rubert & the Fastest 80' Malibu Station Wagon has given a race up-
date.
I spoke with the Entertainer last night. Tony explained that the world fastest
station wagon is being fitted with a new crank assembly, up-dated heads
and a few new little secrets that he'd rather not tell you about.
Although Tony was not ready to head out of town for the IHRA Spring
Nationals, he hopes of making a run at a new World ET record for the 84
Malibu Wagon at VMP. "Virgimia Motorsports Park has always been a place
that everyone likes to run. If I can get the "Pounder" (the car name) out and
tested, I'll be making the pull. We've been waiting for a few new parts to
arrive, but they just haven't gotten here...I'm gettin' the itch BAD!!"
Rubert is a rare breed. He always keeps that fans on the edge of the seat.
He believes that every run that he makes stands to improve on creating a
new world record. His relationship with the fans in the pit area grow with
every event, while his relationship to the phrase "never surrender" inspires
all that meet him. Tony 'The Entertainer' Rubert has made a serious mark
in the sport that he loves and has now opened his doors to take on a
marketing partner.
